Dr. Corinne Weaver There’s nothing quite like a homemade gift to express love and appreciation. During the holidays, I usually have a little extra time to do some of my favorite DIY. Today I want to share a few of them with you. Peppermint Patty Sugar Scrub Our first scrub, which is the favorite of many, is the Peppermint patty sugar scrub! This is the perfect gift to create a fun and festive Christmas. The recipe is really simple, and most people have all of the ingredients at their disposal, especially once you get your Peppermint oil which is multi-faceted. Here is the recipe: Ingredients: 3/4 cup organic sugar 1/2 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil 12 drops Peppermint essential oil* Tip: In place of Fractionated Coconut oil you could use almond oil, grapeseed oil or olive oil. Directions: - Combine sugar, Fractionated Coconut Oil, and peppermint in a bowl.
- Mix and enjoy!!
*Once you get your bottle of Peppermint essential oil, you will begin to recognize that the benefits extend far wider than just this scrub! NOTE: Top reasons why people love Peppermint essential oil: -Promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing -Promotes digestive health -Repels bugs naturally -Tastes great in many different recipes including smoothies Stress Away Salt Scrub Another scrub that I love has a tropical feel to it so if you are looking to prepare a gift for someone in a cold environment this might be the perfect present! It’s called Stress Away Salt Scrub and is perfect for exfoliating dry skin so that it is smooth and begins to shine once again. This recipe calls for 15 drops of your favorite essential oils ... but I recommend the Stress Away oil that has Copaiba oil, Lime oil, Cedarwood bark oil, Vanilla absolute, Ocotea oil, and Lavender oil in it. Ingredients: 1 cup organic virgin coconut oil 1 cup Pink Himalayan (or Epsom) salt 1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil 15 drops of your favorite essential oil(s) (Stress Away) Directions: - Melt coconut oil in over a double boiler.
- Once melted, remove from heat.
- Add Fractionated Coconut Oil and Pink Himalayan Salt to melted coconut oil.
- Stir until combined.
- Add essential oils.
- Let sit until coconut oil solidifies, stirring every 10 minutes.
- Stir until well combined and store in an airtight container.
- To use, rub on skin and rinse with warm water.
Tip: Put in refrigerator to speed up the cooling process. Whipped Lotion for dry feet and skin This whipped lotion is really special for anyone suffering with rough, scaly, dry “sandpaper” feet! It can be used anywhere on your body and it is recommended to apply a generous amount to your feet with socks before going to sleep. Ingredients: 1 teaspoon beeswax 2 tablespoons cocoa butter 4 tablespoons shea butter 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil 2 tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil 5 drops Lemon essential oil 5 drops Lavender essential oil Directions: - In small glass container, combine all ingredients except essential oils.
- Place in saucepan with 1-1.5 inches of boiling water.

- Once melted, remove from heat and let rest 3 minutes.
- Add essential oils and stir.
- Let mixture come to a solid. To quicken process, place in refrigerator.
- Once solid, use an electric mixer to whip lotion.
- Gradually come to high speed and whip for 3-4 minutes or until light and fluffy.

Lotion Bars I love gifting lotion bars - especially when they are DIY - because I know they are safe and made with love. These natural moisturizing lotion bars will nourish and soothe dry skin. Simply rub the bar on your skin and let your body's natural heat melt the lotion. After one use, you won't know how you lived without it! Ingredients: 2⁄3 cup beeswax 1⁄2 cup coconut oil 1⁄2 cup cocoa butter 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil 15 drops of essential oil(s) (My favorite is Citrus Fresh) What’s better than Lemon, Grapefruit, and Orange essential oils? These oils are combined to create the inspiring and unique Citrus Fresh essential oil blend. Along with Tangerine, Mandarin, and Spearmint, Citrus Fresh is my absolute favorite!! - Measure all ingredients, except for essential oils, in large glass jar.
- Place jar in saucepan with 1-1.5 inches of boiling water.
- Stir ingredients until combined.
- Once melted, remove from heat. Let rest 3 minutes.
- Add essential oils and stir.
- Pour mixture into silicone mold. I use a heart mold.
Tip: For an exfoliating lotion bar, add Gluten-free oatmeal to the bottom of the mold. Let mixture harden for 2-3 hours. Wrap in plastic wrap and store in container until ready to use. Just rub lotion bar on skin for extreme moisture. Orange Peppermint Lip Balm WOW - WOW - WOW! This is what people say whenever I give them the gift of Orange Peppermint Lip Balm. This lip balm is healthy, natural, and will leave your lips feeling soft and rejuvenated. Ingredients: 1⁄2 ounce of beeswax (approx 1 and a half tablespoons) 1⁄2 ounce coconut oil 1⁄4 ounce shea butter (approx 1⁄2 tablespoon) 1⁄4 ounce cocoa butter (approx 1⁄2 tablespoon) 15 drops Citrus Fresh essential oil 15 drops of peppermint 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract Directions: - Measure everything except the essential oils and the vanilla extract into a glass measuring cup or bowl.
- Fill a large skillet/saucepan with 1-1.5 inches of water. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, place the glass measuring cup in the center of the saucepan to melt and combine the ingredients. Stir every few minutes until the ingredients are melted (10-15 minutes).
- Once all wax is melted, remove from heat and let sit for 3 minutes. Then add vanilla extract and essential oils.
- Pour mixture into lip balm containers. It’s okay if you spill: wax easily comes off plastic and counter tops.
- Let the mixture cool and you’re done!
“Elevated Experience” Bath Salts You should totally consider this DIY product and make sure to prepare a few extras for yourself - you’ll be glad you did! This is the easiest DIY recipe I will share a MUST for all of us. Having proper rest and relaxation is important for our overall health and quality of life. Ingredients: 1 cup Epsom salt 10 drops favorite essential oil(s) (I like breathing in peppermint and or lavender in my bath) Directions: - Add essential oil(s) to Epsom salt and stir together.
- Draw a warm bath and add 1/4 cup - 1/2 cup of Epsom salt to bath.
Best Holiday Room Spray Now it is time for the party DIY products! I absolutely love holiday room sprays because they immediately set the mood. In fact, I was on TV this past week talking about this. (Note: You can watch it on my YouTube channel.) This particular room spray smells INCREDIBLE. At first there's a top note of Citrus, mingled with just a hint of Frankincense. You can't help but be in a good mood when this magic is in the air. Directions: - Grab your Frankincense and Citrus Fresh essential oils.
- In an 8 ounce glass spray bottle, add 2 ounces of witch hazel, 15 drops each of Frankincense and Citrus Fresh and the rest distilled water.
- Shake the bottle of spray. You can use on furniture, carpet, in your car, bathroom, or anywhere else you want freshened!
- Put on a jolly holiday song and spritz the room to the beat of merriment!
Tip: Add fresh cranberries and place in guest room for a festive touch! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE when I am able to set the mood of my hours by engaging positive scents. There are many products available in the market that will help with home fragrance but most are filled with chemicals that could be damaging to your health. Especially if your family and friends have asthma, allergies, and or headaches. In 2004, she founded the Upper Cervical Wellness Center in Indian Trail, North Carolina. Over the last 13 years, she has helped thousands of clients restore their brain to-body function. When she was 10 years old, she lost her own health as the result of a bike accident that led to having asthma and allergy issues that she thought she would always have to endure. Then, after her first upper cervical adjustment at age 21, her health began to improve thanks to upper cervical care and natural herbal remedies. This enabled her to create a drug-free wellness lifestyle for herself and her family, and she also enthusiastically discovered her calling to help children heal naturally. Dr. Weaver was recently named one of Charlotte Magazine's "Top Doctors" in 2016 and is now a number-one internationally bestselling author to two books: Learning How to Breathe and No More Meds. Upper Cervical Wellness Center is known for finding the root cause of health concerns through lifestyle changes, diagnostic testing, nutraceutical supplementation, and correction of subluxation (as opposed to just medicating the symptoms). The practice offers cutting-edge technological care at its state-of-the-art facility, including laser-aligned upper cervical X-rays, bioimpedance analysis (measures body composition), digital thermography (locates thermal abnormalities characterized by skin inflammation), and complete nutritional blood analysis, which is focused on disease prevention.
