God is always speaking, even through natural circumstances...it's our job to "listen."

Recently, I was sitting on my porch, doing devotions, when I looked up and saw a buck in our field, perhaps fifty feet away from me. We are used to seeing does here, lots of them. There are even two does raising their fawns in our field, but a buck? Immediately I was rapt. A buck is an unusual sight that requires full attention!
Then two more bucks quietly slid into my view, one after the other. Wow! Three Bucks traveling together. I was stunned. Shocked, I watched as yet another buck silently showed up – a fourth one! The first buck jumped over our creek bed and wandered into the pasture. I realized I better act quickly and quietly to try to get a picture of them. I reached for my phone to get a picture of these four bucks when unbelievably a fifth buck showed up, hurrying over to the others. (Photo via Edie Bayer)
And Now There Are Five Out of Season?
Any buck in this area at this time of year is highly irregular. For more than two or three bucks to be traveling together is unheard of! But FIVE bucks? These guys were full grown, not babies. The only time we see grown bucks is during mating season. So, these fully mature bucks are in our area, out of season which can only mean one thing: God is speaking to us. He is moving to supernaturally bless His people, creating a new season of blessing, out of season! Our seed has matured. It's an early harvest.
Bucks and bucks and bucks! They just kept coming! When the first buck showed up, a thought went through my head: "The BUCK stops here." Immediately afterward I thought, "I don't want to limit God! He can send as many bucks as He wants!"
My knee-jerk thought was multiplication. First there was one, then three, then four and then five. I believe deers symbolize provision, always, and these five bucks just suddenly showed up. They quietly appeared out of nowhere, seemingly out of season, multiplying one after the other for a steady stream of – well, BUCKS! I had just read about decisions that we had made years ago affecting our circumstances today and I realized, without a doubt, that the BUCKS I GIVE now equal the BUCKS I GET multiplied back to me by GRACE! Our seed has matured for harvest. (Photo via Edie Bayer)
The Food She Gave Became the Food She Got
The same holds true for all of us. Sowing and reaping is God's idea, but here is the catch – you must give something for it to multiply, and you must believe that it will. I know that's a crazy concept, but it's Biblical. Elijah did it with the widow woman's oil and meal (see 1 Kings 17:8-16). She never doubted him. She gave up the very last of her food supply at his instruction; yet in her obedience, she and her household "…ate for many days." The food she gave became the food she got!
Elisha did it with the woman and the jars of oil but with an important twist! He asked her what she had in the house that had value and she responded, "Your handmaid has nothing in the house except a jar of oil" (2 Kings 4:2). Elisha instructed her to go borrow a bunch of empty jars, come back and "…shut the door upon you and your sons..." (2 Kings 4:5). He then told her to pour out the oil into all the borrowed jars. She gave up her most treasured possession in obedience and it was multiplied.
It worked for her, and it will for us, too…if we SHUT THE DOOR ON DOUBT AND UNBELIEF and obey the voice of God to do as He instructs us. He has a plan for multiplication and gives us a formula to carry it out.
Jesus did it with the loaves and fish. We all know that He got a few fish and some bread and multiplied them to feed thousands (see Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:31-44; Luke 9:12-17; John 6:1-14). Incredibly, He did this not just once but twice (see Matthew 15:32-39; Mark 8:1-9)! Anything Jesus says or does twice means PAY ATTENTION. That is exactly what God was saying to us with this story – not just once, but twice: Pay attention. If you give, it will be multiplied back to you, pressed down, shaken together and overflowing (see Luke 6:38). Don't doubt, just believe.
Now remember, even Jesus had to block out the voices of the unbelievers as He raised the little girl from the dead. They laughed at Him in unbelief and doubt!
"And when He came to the house, He permitted no one to enter with Him except Peter and John and James, and the girl's father and mother. And all were weeping for and bewailing her; but He said, 'Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.' And they laughed Him to scorn, knowing full well that she was dead." (Luke 8:51-53 AMPC)
100% Sure? Probably Not
Here is another key that may help you. This little girl was the FIRST one who Jesus raised from the dead that we know of in the Scriptures. No one in the room with Him had seen a dead-raising before – even Him (in the earth realm). Honestly, think about it. The parents, I'm sure, WANTED it to work! They wanted their daughter back, but did they KNOW for sure that it would happen? Probably not. The disciples were the same, believing that maybe, hopefully something was going to happen. But were they 100% sure that it would work? Probably not.
What I am saying is this: you can WANT to believe in a promise of God yet still not be 100% sure for it to come to pass. Just be confident in Jesus. Believe that HE is the One who can do it!
Listen, I don't have a black belt in faith. When God used me to raise that duck from the dead, I wasn't sure it would work. I had previously prayed for chickens and other critters to come back with no results. Still, I WANTED God to bring this duck back to life – not for me, but for my husband. I just believed that He could do it, I prayed it long and hard and God did it. He brought that dead duck back to life. In hind-sight, I had closed the door on any other option other than Him bringing it back. I had closed the door on unbelief.
Here are some keys for harvest season multiplication:
• Don't limit God.
• Give to God in obedience.
• Shut the door on doubt.
• You don't need a black belt in faith.
• Just do it!
We are in a dead-raising, multiplication, revival season of suddenly-appearing bucks and bucks and bucks. My goodness. Shout GRACE to it! Hallelujah! I'm believing for bucks for you.
