Let Your Voice Be Heard ITSAN has made great strides finding allies within the medical community to amplify our voice. While the understanding of Red Skin Syndrome is still in the beginning stages, the National Eczema Association created a task force to review the existing literature and comment on RSS. They published their findings in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology in March of 2015. Read the full task force paper here Recently the NEA reposted their findings on their official Facebook page. They are still taking the time to educate eczema sufferers, whose first line therapy is topical steroids, about this potential adverse effect. We welcome the opportunity to join our voices as allies against RSS, also known as Topical Steroid Addiction and Topical Steroid Withdrawal Syndrome. We ask that you please visit this post and add your story and experience to the conversation. The NEA trains doctors and provides educational resources to dermatologists from the top thought leaders in dermatology. They have opened the door and are listening. Others who visit the page and this post will be able to see what RSS is when they view our community’s comments and experiences, but only if we post them. You can find the post and comment here. Please add your experience, as well as what you want researchers and doctors to know and what you want them to do. Thank you to all of the friends of ITSAN for taking the time to keep this issue at the forefront of the conversation. "A Story Not Shared Does Not Serve" |
