"God is Writing Your Comeback Story!"

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzWho doesn't like a good "comeback" story? Yes, we all do.

When you think you are done, down for the count, and have lost...that's when the best comeback stories are born!

This recent article by Kim Potter should highly encourage many of you as she says:

God is saying, "It's Comeback Time!" I believe He is saying this for many in the Body of Christ. I also believe we are going to see comeback stories, just like this one in the days ahead.

We'll be seeing stories of many people who have been spoken against with phrases like, "They will never make it. I knew they couldn't do it. They don't have what it takes to pull through." The naysayers will be wrong. Never count a man or woman out who has a heart to finish!

Be highly encouraged as God is writing your comeback story! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"God is Writing Your Comeback Story!"
Kim Potter, Dayton, TN

"He walked through fire." These were the words spoken about Deontay Wilder, an American professional boxer, in his dramatic comeback moment.

I Love a Good Comeback Story!

Deontay Wilder fought Luis Ortiz in a heavyweight championship boxing match on March 2, 2018. As I read his story, I smiled. I love a comeback story. We don't hear of these stories very often, but when we do, they spark something in us. At least that is how it is for me.

Wilder was losing the championship by round seven. Frankly, it looked finished. Everyone watching was saying the same things: "He is overrated, finished, never should have entered this fight. He doesn't have what it takes to win." They were right that it looked over. At least that is how it seemed. Before it would end, he would endure 63 brutal power punches. How could anyone come back from that?

In round ten, he was still standing. With his future in front of him, he took the punches and kept getting back up. It was in round ten that he punched back with all his might and took out his opponent!

He won the championship. He had an awesome comeback! Never count out a man with the heart to win!

Yes, It's Comeback Time!

Wilder said a couple things I want to share. This is what he said:

• A true champion knows how to adjust.
• A true champion always finds a way to come back.

I don't recall ever reading an article on boxing championships. However, God led me to this one and I am so glad He did. He knows I love a comeback story! I think there is more to it, though. I believe God is saying, "It's Comeback Time!" I believe He is saying this for many in the Body of Christ.

Is Our Heart in It?

I think this is the first question we need to ask ourselves: "Is our heart in it?" Whatever you are standing in faith for, is your heart in it? Is it something you wish for? Or is it something you are standing in faith for? There is a huge difference. The difference is the heart. With the heart the man believes. We must believe God will do what He said He would do. Like Abraham, we must be fully persuaded.

Philippians 4:11 says, "Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content."

If I have learned anything in the last year it is this: being content. Contentment comes when you learn to adjust. Adjusting to changes and situations we wish we could change. We must first adjust our thinking. Once our thinking is adjusted, we can then adjust our words. It will take time and discipline, but we can learn to adjust and remain in the peace of God at all times.

You can't allow every situation or change to move you. Remain steadfast and immovable. Stand on the Word of God without wavering. Learn to adjust.

A True Champion Always Finds a Way to Come Back

There are some people you can't keep down. King David was one of those. Numerous times, people sought to kill him. He had his entire family taken from him. His wife turned against him. His life was not an easy life. But the enemy could not keep him down. Each time something came against him, the Bible says, "He sought the Lord." Each time he sought the Lord, the Lord gave him a way to come back. He gave him instruction and as David followed the leading of the Lord, he recovered all.

Jesus Christ is the ultimate comeback story! He was definitely counted out. He took His last breath in front of the crowd that day. He was nailed to a Cross. He was tortured and humiliated. He was buried and sealed. But He came back, and He came back with power!

YOU Are a Comeback Story!

This word is for you today! You are a comeback story. It may have looked like you were out for the count, but you are not. It may look over, but it is not over until God says it is over. God has made us a promise. We will come out to victory. When we believe this truth in our heart, nothing can stop it. It's time to shut the mouth of the enemy. There is nothing that shuts the mouth of the enemy like seeing God's people come through the fire without the smell of smoke!

Isaiah 43:1-3 says, "...Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."

Glory be to God! We have a promise, my friend. It is comeback time! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
