Dear SAIMM Zim Member;
As you are aware we have not held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for this year 2018. This AGM was supposed to be held in May 2018 at a chosen branch event site. We had hoped to secure approval from one of the mining operations to host this branch event and then hold our AGM on the same day as part of the agenda. Unfortunately we have not managed to secure a site to host the branch event. Companies are facing a number of challenges making it difficult for them to host the Zimbabwe SAIMM branch event.
The AGM is to meant to approve the financial report for the year including the election of new committee members to run the branch office for the year July 2018 to June 2019. We have resolved as a committee to make the following proposals for the new committee;

- Othiniel Zvarevashe – Secretary and Vice Chairman
- Wenceslaus Kutekwatekwa – Honorary Treasurer
- Stanley Matutu (Past Chairman)
- Shepherd Gaihai
- Stephen Ndiyamba
- Professor Dzinomwa
- Professor Ityokumbul
- Charles Tahwa
- Mariah Hungwe – Youth Development
- Adrian Chinhava – Youth Development
- Ex Officio Member - Darlis Punch – SAIMM Branch Administrator

Meanwhile the Committee is seized with organising the Annual three-day conference planned for 26-28 September 2018 at Cresta Lodge in Harare
