Please allow 21 business days once your application is complete for our membership committee to review and approve your application. If you paid by check, your application will not be processed until the check is received, so allow additional time for processing. If your application is not complete within 60 days, including receipt of your letter of recommendation, your application will be denied. Please remember to provide one professional reference (examples include HECA Member, high school counselor, college admissions staff). IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SEND THE LINK TO YOUR RECOMMENDER FOR THE RECOMMENDATION FORM. Your application will not be complete nor reviewed until we receive ONE professional reference that can attest to your professional work ethic and pathway (please do not have more than one recommendation sent). If you were enrolled in a certificate program, instructors are not allowed to write letters of recommendation. As an applicant, it is your responsibility to confirm with your reference that they have completed the reference form. Also, your application is not complete until you provide documentation of evidence of completion of highest degree and, if appropriate, a copy of an approved certificate program (UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside and UC Berkeley). A SCANNED COPY OR SCREEN SHOT OF the highest degree you earned must be sent to membership@hecaonline.org. Only degree-granting institution copies/scans/screenshots will be considered, no certificates or professional development units. It is the responsibility of the applicant to send a screenshot or a scanned copy. Transcripts cannot be sent to the Membership Chair directly from the degree-granting institution. Documents must be scanned and sent to membership@hecaonline.org While your application is being processed, you can check its status by going to https://hecaonline.org/ and logging in with your e-mail and password. Once a decision is made on your application you will receive notification.
