From the desk of Steve Shultz:
How many of you have been waiting for a "second chance" to come your way?
Well, God is the God of second chances...and many more for that matter!
This is an awesome word from Cameron King that will encourage many of you as he shares:
So when the Lord spoke to me and said, "My Calebs are about to be given their second opportunity," I knew exactly what He was saying. There are people who have a history with God. They have lived a life of faith and have a different spirit about them. Unfortunately, they were denied opportunity because of other people's actions and unbelief. The good news for these people is that their second opportunity is coming soon!
I don't need to add any more to that...your second chance is here! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"Your Second Chance is Coming!"
Cameron King, Monroe, Georgia
I was sitting at my kitchen table and the Lord spoke to me and said, "My Calebs are about to be given their second opportunity."
My mind naturally gravitated toward Numbers 13 where the Lord told Moses to send spies into the Promised Land, and each tribe was to send one of their leaders to serve as a spy. Caleb was a leader within the tribe of Judah. It was only Caleb and Joshua who brought back a good report among the twelve spies. Caleb vocalized that now was the time to conquer and win.
"Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, 'We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.'" (Numbers 13:30)
We know the people were not allowed to enter the Promised Land because of their unbelief. The only exception was Caleb and Joshua (Numbers 14:30).
"The part you play is but a few pages in the larger story God is writing, and you get to play a part within His larger story. Know that your victory will influence the future." |
"Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the Lord fills the whole earth, not one of those who saw My glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed Me and tested Me ten times—not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated Me with contempt will ever see it. But because My servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it." (Numbers 14:21-24)
Nevertheless, both Joshua and Caleb experienced profound delays in their destinies and callings. They wandered in the desert for 40 years, and it was not their fault! They suffered from the consequences of other people's sin. They were denied opportunity and potential because of other people's unbelief.
Then the Lord said to me, "The ones who have remained in faith, who have stayed positive, continued in prayer, remained in love and have kept a kind disposition toward those who have failed, will be given a second opportunity. These are the ones who have kept their faith in Me and in My redemptive power."
So if you have been a Caleb, there is something still burning inside of you. If you're waiting for a second chance, the Lord wants you to know a few things to prepare you for the coming opportunity.
1. You Must Keep Asking!
Caleb kept asking for what the Lord had promised him. Look at what Caleb says in Joshua 14:10-12:
"Now then, just as the Lord promised, He has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time He said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as He said." (Photo via Unsplash)
