Justice Reigns! As many of you are aware, our amazing and beautiful daughter Justice was just crowned Miss Tennessee USA 2020. We are beyond excited for her and what she has overcome to win this pageant, but also the spiritual parallels and accompanying prophetic message from it all. (Screengrab image: via ClarksvilleOnline)
Justice had to overcome Lyme disease and severe Endometriosis on her path to receiving this crown, but I am sure you will hear her say it was worth it. It was a couple of years ago at a Hollywood, CA pageant that her health challenges went to a severe level. She had just announced herself on stage and within two minutes collapsed backstage, ultimately ending up in the ER and hospital for three days.
Justice was unable to finish that competition, but I observed that within days right there in Hollywood, the Harvey Weinstein allegations came out, and the #metoo movement ensued. There was something about Justice being announced on a stage in Hollywood that served as a prophetic act.
Justice had to go through an intense and very delicate 7-hour operation related to the Endometriosis and had an arduous recovery, but continued to be led by God in knowing that she was to do pageants. Over the last three years or so, she has held several titles but has always fallen short of winning at the big stage of the state level, though she has done well.
Living Epistle
Paul talked about being a "living epistle" where you don't just know the Scriptures, but God begins to use your life's story in a way that reveals God in an instructive way. This is so true with our "Justice Hope." Her name was given to me by the Lord even though we had a different named previously picked out. It came out of a season of seeing tremendous unrighteousness and injustice. The Lord was speaking that He was the ultimate Hope for Justice, and it is a guarantee that either here or there, now or later, His foundation of justice must be reckoned with.
Justice is not necessarily synonymous with vengeance, but is rather about crooked paths and results being made strait. It is still always about God's grace, but justice is about God's mercy and grace FOR VICTIMS—those who have been wronged are coming to the forefront and receiving His attention. People who say, "No, we want grace not justice," are fundamentally misinformed on the place and value of justice. Justice is about wrongs being made right, and it is important to understand that this is a foundation of His throne. Justice is grace, but for the wronged.
Time for Justice to Be Seen on the Big Stage
Our Justice has been contending for the big stage at the same time that justice, at a national level, has been contending for a crowning moment. The beauty of justice needs to be publicly revealed, as it causes many to rejoice.
So many of you spoke of bursting into tears when Justice was announced as winner. Last night one of the judges came to us and said, "Justice is amazing." She said that when Justice walked out in her red dress, she literally "gasped" at her beauty, and that there was something she saw that Justice carried inside and out. Justice could not win on the big stage in California, but she was able to announce herself on that stage and become a serious contender. Justice in California is still being suppressed but it is forthcoming as well, and will soon be evidenced. (Photo L to R: Enlows with daughters Justice, Grace, and Glory)
Last Thursday, Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee declared it a day of humbling before God and praying for the state. It took guts for him to do that, but it is not coincidental that two days later, Justice won in Tennessee. There is an alignment that creates a new day that allows justice/Justice to flourish.
It is also significant to me that a state that ends in SEE is where Justice reigns. We have just finished a decade on the Hebraic calendar where SEEING was the repeat focus, and I have previously spoken into that. Justice gets crowned in a state that starts with TEN and ends with SEE. With that, we head into 2020.
Something Has Changed
As many of you have already noted in your comments to us, Justice winning is also a prophetic encouragement to the Body of Christ, the United States of America, and even to the world. His Justice is relentless and comes in waves. You can knock her off the stage and temporarily suppress her, but a wave of Justice will ultimately prevail and it will cause people to rejoice as Hope's flame comes alive. We are going to see true, good justice go viral, and it will both warn the evildoer and encourage the heart of the downtrodden.
The day before the pageant, I returned from a most amazing trip to Uganda. There I was the keynote speaker at the large National Prayer Breakfast, invited by the president and parliament. The message was greatly received, and the president publicly praised it and asked if I would get that message in booklet form so he could get it around to the nation. I had personal meetings with the president, the prime minister, the speaker of parliament, and other dignitaries while being hosted and "chaperoned" by the minister of finance.
I am used to favor, but this was unprecedented. I fell in love with the Ugandans and the story of justice and redemption that God is telling with the "living epistle" of Uganda. The nation known for the horror stories of Idi Amin and Joseph Kony is about to be told in an entirely new way.
The president and first family [of Uganda] are absolutely amazing, God-fearing, and honoring individuals. Across the spectrum, at the top of government, Believers are in place and are now getting a better idea of how to receive the Kingdom of God at that level. I was in the very house where Idi Amin had underground tunnels for death and torture, and much innocent blood spilt. It is now a place where an altar to God has been intentionally raised and occupied by the first family.
I saw the justice of God unfolding as He is righting the wrong of so much innocent bloodshed—and then I came home to see the beauty of Justice crowned publicly. It is a great day and my heart is elated—both at our personal story, but also at the Kingdom story being played out.
