From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzOur words and our decrees are powerful and carry a lot of weight in the spirit realm.

I want you to remember that as you read through this powerful word from Kim Potter in which she admonishes us to:

Declare with a loud voice, "Let God's people go! Let our nation go! TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF GOD'S PEOPLE, DEVIL. TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. WE ARE ONE NATION UNDER GOD AND WE WILL REMAIN ONE NATION UNDER GOD!"

Yes and amen over and over again to that. Read this word by Kim, and get ready to tell the enemy: HANDS OFF! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

I had a dream, recently, on a Saturday night. It was a quick dream, perhaps no longer than a few minutes. Even with the shortness of it, it spoke volumes to me.

In my dream, I was riding in the vehicle with Breanne, my daughter. In the back seat were my grandkids, Bryson and Brailee. I could see Bryson did not feel well. Something was wrong with his mouth; I didn't know what it was specifically. I leaned over the seat to pray for him, as I normally do, to declare the Word of God over him.

As I leaned forward, something came upon me, or within me...I am not sure. I laid one hand on Brailee, and one on Bryson and closed my eyes.

"Devil! TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF MY CHILDREN!" I thundered.

These words came rushing out of the depths of my soul. They exploded loudly and with such force that it shook the entire vehicle, stopping it in its tracks. We all looked at each other stunned. It was not what we were expecting to say the least.

Then I woke up.

As I went about my day, I couldn't get this dream out of my mind. Only later would I realize what God was showing me.

I don't know if you have noticed, but we are in a war zone. There is an unprecedented battle going on around us. Many are enraged. I am not talking about the world, or those who do not know God; I am talking about born-again, spirit-filled Christians.

We are accustomed to the world attacking Christians for their beliefs. What we are not as familiar with is Christians attacking Christians, or at least I am not. Yet that is what we are seeing. How is it happening? Through our words.

A Kingdom Divided Cannot Stand

I am not referring to Christians having difficult conversations or talking through their differences – or even two people agreeing to disagree. No, it's something entirely different. (Photo via Piqsels)

"If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." (Mark 3:24-25)

Friends, we are equipped to be a strong, empowered Body of Christ. We are not a kingdom divided; we are one in God. We should behave as such.

Out of the Mouth Proceed Both Blessing and Cursing - Which Will You Choose?

James 3:8-10 says, "But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so."

These things should not be so.

The New Living Translation says it like this: "[B]ut no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so, blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!"

If our words do not line up with God's Word, they may very well be filled with poison.

"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one Body: and be thankful." (Colossians 3:12-15)

Now is the time we must keep our minds on God. If there was ever a moment to treat our brothers and sisters with tender mercy, kindness and understanding, it is now. It is time to guard our mouths, watch our words and especially be aware of how we respond to others.

If someone is angry with you, take a deep breath and be kind. Don't react to the anger; instead, respond according to the Word of God. Seek God for answers, for wisdom and for His words... (continue reading)
