Nanoleaf's wood-like panels are available at their lowest price ever at Best Buy Plus, a few deals that (might) make you look cool If you buy something from a Verge link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement. It's Friday yet again, and since it's now officially fall, we've got some cool deals for you to check out. Although we're smack-dab in the midst of gadget season, this week we're highlighting some great deals on tech new and old, including different kinds of smart lights for your home and some excellent games you can take with you anywhere on your Nintendo Switch.
Be sure to check out each of these deals we have curated for you.
Kicking things off are the Nanoleaf Elements light-up wall panels, which are currently seeing a nice discount at Best Buy. A seven-piece kit of the hexagon-shaped panels is $50 off right now, bringing them down to $250. If you want to go beyond seven, you can opt for a three-panel expansion kit for $80 (saving you $20). These panels are customizable, too, and you can connect up to 22 of them in one contiguous pattern.
You may be familiar with the colorful Nanoleaf panels due to their popularity with Twitch streamers and YouTubers, but the Elements promise a more refined look with their wood styling and white illumination, which ranges from cool to warm tones. When turned off, their subtle aesthetic still complements a room while looking less like light panels that have gone out. $250 $300 17% off Prices taken at time of publishing. The Nanoleaf Elements represent a unique spin on smart lighting, with a wooden look that's designed to be an attractive accent in your home even when they're not illuminated. The LED panels can be arranged in a layout of your choosing, too.
If you're looking for more deals on the smart home front, Best Buy is offering several great deals on Philips Hue lighting through its Geek Squad-certified refurbished program. Our top pick is the multicolor Starter Kit, which comes with three bulbs, a Bridge, and a dimmer for $135. In addition to that, there are some nice options for accent lighting with the 65-inch Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip, coming in at $225, and a two-pack of Hue Play Smart LED light bars for $100 (saving you $50).
Either of those can add some drama to a room or entertainment center, while the starter kit can outfit an entire bedroom and give you easy control with the dimmer. If you're in need of a Hue Bridge for some bulbs you have already invested in, Best Buy also has the 2nd-generation Bridge for $40 (saving you $20). $135 $190 29% off Prices taken at time of publishing. The Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance LED Starter Kit is an all-in-one solution for setting up a smart lighting system with enough bulbs and accessories to light a small-to-average size room. The package includes three E26 bulbs, a dimmer switch, and a Hue Bridge for connectivity.
Bose's line of Bluetooth-enabled audio sunglasses are pretty unique. They come in a few different styles, with some models looking more casual and sleek while others are more fit for action. Right now, there are some noteworthy deals on both the Bose Frames Tempo and Bose Frames Tenor at multiple retailers. Both offer wireless audio that does not block your ears and prevent you from hearing things in your vicinity, which can be very helpful when riding a bike, commuting, or roaming around the city. For a limited time, Best Buy is offering the Tempo and Tenor for a discounted price of $224, knocking $25 off the list price of both models. You can also get the same deal on the Tempo at Amazon and the Tenor at B&H. Read our Bose Frames Tempo review here. $224 $249 11% off Prices taken at time of publishing. The Bose Frames Tempo are Bluetooth-equipped audio sunglasses that are designed to fit right in with an active lifestyle. The USB-C sunglasses don't cover or obstruct your ears, either, allowing you to stay alert to the outside world while enjoying music or a podcast. $224 $249 11% off Prices taken at time of publishing. The Tenor are one of the more stylish, everyday options in the Bose Frames lineup. The sunglasses feature polarized lenses housed in a water-resistant nylon frame. They also offer five and a half hours of Bluetooth playback that doesn't obstruct your ability to hear your surroundings. In case you missed this deal in our daily roundup earlier this week, Oculus is still selling its Quest 2 VR headset as a buy-two-get-$100-off deal. The Oculus Quest 2 has become incredibly popular for the ease of use it brings to the world of VR gaming, but also as a fitness device when combined with games like Beat Saber or services such as Supernatural. This deal is perfect if you prefer not to share with your housemates or loved ones, but would still like to step into VR.
Ok, I can acknowledge that maybe a VR headset is not going to help you look cool, but it certainly is a great deal on a cool product. 😎 $498 $598 17% off Prices taken at time of publishing. A standalone virtual reality headset and successor to the Oculus Quest. It features a refined design, higher-resolution displays, and a faster processor than its predecessor. The latest iteration features double the amount of storage for the same $299 price. Sticking with games for a moment, the Nintendo eShop is offering some of its best deals on a slew of excellent titles during its Blockbuster Sale, which runs through October 3rd. There are a variety of amazing indie games to choose from at some of their best-yet prices, including Overcooked! 2 for $8, Ori and the Will of the Wisps for $19, The Messenger for $8, Dicey Dungeons for $5, and Axiom Verge (no relation) for $8. Our top choice might have to go to Hades, however, which is currently matching its historical low on the eShop at $17. Read our Hades review. $17 $25 32% off Prices taken at time of publishing. Hades is a roguelike, action-RPG developed by Supergiant Games that's now available on PS4 and Xbox in addition to Nintendo Switch and PC. It's always cool to see such a great laptop come back down to one of its best prices, which is why we're capping off our highlights with the latest MacBook Air. The M1-equipped 2020 model has been a solid lock for so many Verge writers' favorite workhorse computer. It's what many of us type to you on (including yours truly) and while it may look diminutive as a base-model machine, it is quite mighty in all the tasks it can tackle. Amazon and Best Buy have it today for $150 off, bringing it down to $850, its second-best price to date. $850 $1,000 15% off Prices taken at time of publishing. The fan-less MacBook Air is Apple's entry-level laptop, which comes outfitted with the company's new M1 chip and in one of three different colorways (silver, space gray, and gold).
