Intro from Phyllis Ford:
Wayland Henderson is someone I see as a son in the Gospel. In 2010, he and his wife came to the Dallas/Fort Worth area with a powerful word of revelation and awesome downloads concerning revival. He and Jeanette joined their hearts and minds with others in our surrounding area.
As we gathered together, the Lord formed in us an Apostolic Prophetic HUB. They have traveled together with our team to various regions in Colorado, California and throughout the Texas region. They love ministering to many who are hungry for prophetic fire, glory and revival. They both also minister to groups of Millennials locally and in California. The Henderson's are prophetic vessels and have founded Greater Works Ministries, along with their own school of ministry. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
"Who Will Stand In The Secret Counsel of the Lord?"
Wayland Henderson, Arlington, Texas
"For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard His word? Who hath marked His word, and heard it?" (Jeremiah 23:18)
"Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?" (Amos 3:7-8)
"If the world wanted to see the Father it was the Son that manifested Him." |
In Jeremiah 23, the Lord is rebuking the prophets in Jeremiah's day for prophesying from their own hearts and not from the heart of God. The Scripture actually declares they did not prophesy from the mouth of the Lord (Jeremiah 23:16). Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34) therefore, God's words reveal what is on His mind and in His heart.
The Lord then begins to reveal an incredible truth we need in this hour: "Who has stood in the counsel of the Lord?" The Hebrew word "stood" means to stand with someone as well as to stand in an office and be a pillar. The Hebrew word "counsel" is the same word translated as "secret" in Amos 3:7.
The Lord is asking, "Who has been in My secret counsel to know what is on My heart? Who is ready to stand and partner with Me and prophesy out of this secret place of intercession where I reveal My heart, plans and intentions for My people? Who will hear My heart's desire and stand as a pillar and connect the governmental Kingdom of Heaven to the earth?"
Restoring Foundations of Intimacy
The Hebrew word for secret counsel is "sod" which also derives from "yasad" which means foundation. This is why Paul the Apostle declares that the foundation of the Church is apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20)! Understanding this foundation is essential to fulfilling the call of the Church to be a Holy temple and habitation of God (Ephesians 2:21-22). (Photo via Unsplash)
Sod can also be understood as hidden counsel that establishes a foundation of truth. The word "testimony" also derives from this word "yasad" which gives us a powerful picture. Ephesians 3:4-5 declares that secrets and mysteries are revealed to apostles and prophets. Jesus taught in parables to crowds yet to those He was intimate with (His disciples) He revealed mysteries, secrets or His hidden... (continue reading)
