I really appreciate this article from Steve Porter and the wisdom and instruction it carries.
Steve Porter and myself had the same spiritual father, Wade Taylor, and I most definitely see Wade's wisdom carried on in Steve's teachings as well.
This is a powerful statement from Steve Porter:
Mighty warriors who desire to go deeper are teachable. As we study the life of Abraham, we can plainly see why he was so blessed. More than anything else, he valued instruction and a willingness to keep the commandments of God. Such a desire is much more than just a willingness to listen. We become teachable when our desire to receive wisdom is greater than our desire for comfort.
Do we have a willingness to be instructed? Are we humble enough to receive wisdom from the Lord and from others?
