The ISO includes but is not limited to a review of im portant rules and regulations of the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), life and customs in the U.S. and Haverford, local community resources, such as public transportation, medical centers, libraries, recreation centers and banks. In addition, we w ill cover topics on health care and insurance, emergency assistance, how to obtain a social security card or a photo identification card, travel and re - entry, classroom and campus climate, academic integrity, time management, study skills, consumerism, car eer development, internships, employment, completing business forms, finalizing your health requirements, etc. There will also be a tour of the campus and the surrounding areas -- Ardmore, Haverford, Wynnewood, and Bryn Mawr. The ISO program will allow stu dents to meet faculty and administrators, other international students and upper - class students who will serve as International Student Resource Persons (ISRPs). ISRPs (some of whom are international students themselves) remain with and provide guidance t o all participants during ISO and throughout the academic year. ISRPs will not normally reside in the same dorms with international students during the academic year. (Note: ISRPs will not take the place of your Customs Person or Upper Class Advisors.) Add itionally, participants will learn how to adjust to living on campus prior to the arrival of the other students of the Class of 2019 and have the opportunity to shop for immediate personal items, open bank accounts, and recover from travelling.
