Dear Parents and Students, My name is Laura Richardson and I am excited to be teaching 4 th grade AM TOPS this year. I love working at EDUPRIZE and I am looking forward to a super year full of heroes, learning, and growing together! Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 24 years. We are blessed with four children. Our daughter, Bari, and our son, Thomas, attend ASU. Our twins, Caleb and Joshua are freshmen at Perry High School. All four of our children attended EDUPRIZE. I have a Bachelor ' s Degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University. This will be my 12 th year of teaching with seven of those here at EDUPRIZE. We will be exploring four 9 - week cottages this school year. Our cottages this year will include: Arizona Highways, Reptile Ranch, Conservation Plantation, and Grand Canyon Marketplace. I anticipate meeting each of you at our O pen H ouse on Monday, July 23, 2018. The suggested time for our Open House is from 9:30 a.m . - 10:15 a.m . , but I will be available throughout the day. This day is a great chance to see your classroom, meet your classmates, pick up carpool information and drop off your school supplies. Parent helpers are strongly encouraged and are always welcome in our room to enhance and facilitate learning. During the Open House, I will have a quick form for you to fill out letting me know when you would like to volunteer. I do ask, however, that you wait until after the first two weeks of school before you start volunteering. This will give our class a chance to establish routines and procedures as well as community building at the start of the school year. Our first day of school is Wednesday, July 25, 2018. All students must be present the full day to be considered enrolled at EDUPRIZE. During Open House, I will let you know where our class will be lining up outside. On the first day, I will be outside to meet and greet everyone at 7:15 a.m . For the AM TOPS Schedule, school begins at 7:20 a.m . and ends at 12:30 p.m . Monday through Friday. Students should be in line ready to be picked up at 7:15 a.m . I look forward to getting to know you and I am sure we will have a fabulous year of learning and laughter ahead of us. There are always many great back to school specials online or in the Sunday newspaper. Please do not put your child ' s name on supplies unless noted .
