The Lord has been showing me a lot about the purification coming to the Church in these now moments. I feel such an incredible weightiness about this. It's wonderful and exciting to see and discuss all the new things the Lord is doing in this moment and in the moments to come, but I cannot get past the heaviness of how imperative the purification is right now, in this set time.
Those pure in heart, spirit, motive and love will vastly move forward. They are the ones who are the nameless, faceless, broken, and surrendered lovers of Christ. They are catapulting into the purpose for which they have been burned and with their fleshly desires buried.
How to Move into the 'New'
In my very limited knowledge of Hebrew and the Hebraic calendar, I did some searching and found a few things that were highlighted to me as we moved into the new year. On 9/9/18 at sundown began Rosh Hashanah, also known as "Head of the Year". It's the first day of "Days of Awe". The "Head of the Year" begins our "Days of Awe"! How amazing is that as we move into the new?
As I was talking to the Lord about this, He began to speak to me. He said, "Just like there are requirements of you to hold specific positions within a company, there are requirements needing to be met before moving into the new."
"This is what the Lord Almighty says: 'These people say, "The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord's house."' Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai: 'Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?' Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: 'Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.'
"This is what the Lord Almighty says: 'Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build My house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,' says the Lord. 'You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?' declares the Lord Almighty. 'Because of My house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops. I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the olive oil and everything else the ground produces, on people and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.'
"Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of the people obeyed the voice of the Lord their God and the message of the prophet Haggai, because the Lord their God had sent him. And the people feared the Lord." (Haggai 1:2-12 NIV)
There is a re-establishing of a holy, reverential fear and honor for the Lord and the positions He has placed each person of His Church in. Not one greater than the other. We all want to be sent, but we avoid the purification required of us to walk into it.
"Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the alter. With it he touched my mouth and said, 'See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.' Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" (Isaiah 6:6-8 NIV)
A Call to the Lord's Quiet
The Lord says, "Why are you avoiding the quiet I'm calling you into? Are you afraid of losing what you have? Are you afraid of losing the momentum you have been moving in? Why are you afraid of losing that which I gave you? Why are you holding onto those things instead of holding onto Me? Trust Me. Trust My Word that ALL good things come from Me. Stop holding onto past goodness, let go and reach for the new things I have for you!
"Encounter My fire. Let Me mark you and prepare you for this new year! Walk into My fire; My purifying fire that will empower, shift and bring about manifestations you've only had thoughts of. I am pouring out My Spirit on all flesh; My glory to flow. Get ready to receive! When you ready yourself for something, you take the time to prepare. I'm asking you to prepare yourself, in the quiet, to receive the more I have for you."
The Place of Surrender
In the story of Abraham, he trusted God. He had a great relationship with Him, but God still tested him. This test showed how tightly Abraham would hold onto the long-awaited promise he now had. It also showed how much he trusted God and His goodness. When you let go, there is a place of surrender that turns into a launching pad. Let go, let the purifying fires come, and ready yourselves for this new moment the Lord is taking us into. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

There are a lot of ways we can prepare ourselves as we have recently moved into the Jewish new year. When a new season comes, it's always good to spend quiet time with the Lord and allow Him to show us any areas that is in need of change!
